Corrosion in the Stabilizer
During scheduled maintenance on a business jet, our technicians discovered severe corrosion in the tripler structure of the horizontal stabilizer. The damage was critical and required immediate action. After analysis, two repair scenarios were developed:
- Drill-through and fastening: a faster solution, but with added inspection obligations and higher long-term maintenance costs.
- Complete plate replacement: structurally stronger and more sustainable, with no additional inspection burden.
The client chose the long-term solution to replace the complete plate.

To ensure flawless repair execution, the stabilizer was fully disassembled and transported to our partner in Bremen. This for sure wasn’t a standard job.
