Horizontal Stabilizer Repair

When Critical Components Fail

Smart Engineering, Human Collaboration, and Maximum Availability

When your aircraft is grounded, every minute costs money. When critical components fail, you need more than just technical expertise, you need a team that thinks beyond the problem to deliver solutions that work. At JetSupport, we always aim to maximize your time in the air through smart engineering and seamless collaboration.

A recent horizontal stabilizer repair perfectly demonstrates this approach. Faced with severe structural corrosion that could have meant weeks of downtime, our international team turned a complex challenge into a success story. Here’s how teamwork, technical precision, and strategic thinking kept our client flying.

Corrosion in the Stabilizer

During scheduled maintenance on a business jet, our technicians discovered severe corrosion in the tripler structure of the horizontal stabilizer. The damage was critical and required immediate action. JetSupport’s engineering team assessed the situation using precision blending techniques and computational modeling, a great example of how digital precision and hands-on knowledge come together in modern aircraft maintenance.

Two Solutions, One Team Decision

After analysis, two repair scenarios were developed:

  • Drill-through and fastening: a faster solution, but with added inspection obligations and higher long-term maintenance costs.
  • Complete plate replacement: structurally stronger and more sustainable, with no additional inspection burden.

The client chose the long-term solution to replace the complete plate.

JetSupport and Partner Network

To ensure flawless repair execution, the stabilizer was fully disassembled and transported to our partner in Bremen. This for sure wasn’t a standard job. It was a joint project where engineers from both companies worked closely together. In collaborative sessions, technical models and manufacturing constraints were analyzed, and a precise project scope was defined.

The result: a safe, certified replacement, completed on time and with minimal project risk.

Powered by Teamwork

After successful reinstallation, the stabilizer met all technical specifications. The jet returned to full operational status without additional inspection requirements. This success was made possible by the combined effort of JetSupport’s diagnostic specialists, Atlas’s production experts, and our field engineering team. Every link in the chain played a key role.

This project proves that JetSupport delivers High Quality Aircraft Maintenance through true collaboration within our own team and with our trusted partners.

The JetSupport Difference

Our commitment to aircraft availability means we never compromise on safety or quality. Whether it’s a complex structural repair or routine maintenance, we bring the same level of technical precision and collaborative spirit to every project. Because when your aircraft is down, every hour matters, and when it’s in the air, every component must be perfect.

That’s the JetSupport promise: maximum availability, minimum downtime, and maintenance solutions that keep you flying with confidence.
