Fire Extinguisher Replacement on Dassault Falcon 7X

Fully compliant with EASA Part 145 and Part 21 STC standards

Ensuring Safety and Sustainability in the Sky

When a Dassault Falcon 7X arrived at JetSupport, the operator faced a clear regulatory requirement. European environmental regulations now mandate the replacement of halon based fire extinguishers with sustainable alternatives. Compliance was essential not only for safety certification but also for continued operational approval under EU Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009.

From Halon to Sustainable Agents

The existing halon extinguishers, once a reliable standard in aviation, are now recognised as ozone depleting substances under the Montreal Protocol. The replacement process demanded precision and full documentation. It required engineering coordination, certified procedures, and conformity checks under approved design standards to ensure that the new extinguishing system met all EASA airworthiness requirements.

Execution and Technical Coordination

JetSupport carried out the modification in accordance with Service Bulletin FSA-26-20-005-R02 and a Part 21 STC.

The project was managed by JetSupport’s MCC, in collaboration with a Part-21provider, from engineering validation and parts logistics to installation and release to service. Thanks to a highly qualified team, with 85 percent of JetSupport technicians being type rated certifiers, the work was completed according to expectations. This allowed the operator to resume service without interruption or additional ground time.

Results and Compliance

The aircraft now operates with environmentally compliant fire extinguishing systems fully approved under EASA Part 145 and Part 21 STC. All records were reviewed and issued at Certificate of Release to Service. The task confirmed full alignment with European environmental legislation and the operator’s internal compliance standards.

Supporting Long Term Sustainability

Beyond regulatory compliance, the project highlights Business Aviation ongoing commitment to responsible maintenance practices. By replacing ozone depleting substances with approved alternatives and managing the process efficiently through its certified engineering teams, JetSupport supports both environmental progress and operational continuity for its clients.
