Sometimes, the most meaningful maintenance work happens far from the aircraft itself.
Our founder, Ton van Deursen, also chairs Lions Club Schiphol, who meet twice a month in our Head office foyer. The club regularly organizes charity events in our hangar—opportunities where our team naturally steps in, applying the same collaborative approach we use for complex maintenance tasks.
Precision on Four Paws
During one of these events, we met Rob, his partner Edith, and Fay—a highly trained assistance dog from Stichting Hulphond. After a mountain biking accident left Rob without arm mobility, Fay became his daily support system.
Watching Fay in action is impressive: removing gloves with precision, helping with jacket adjustments, operating wheelchair footrests, even opening bottles. Fay is more than just a man’s best friend.
One Team, One Mindset
The Assistance Dog Foundation receives no government funding. Their work is fully supported by private donations—a fact that resonated deeply with our team. When twenty colleagues attended the presentation, the response was immediate. On Ton’s birthday, the team spontaneously donated €300—no campaign, just sincere support.
This moment reminded us that our values as aviation professionals—precision, collaboration, and trust—go far beyond the hangar. Whether ensuring safe operations for our customers or improving daily life for someone like Rob.
JetSupport is and remains committed to sponsor this good cause. Want to be part of this important mission? The Assistance Dog Foundation always welcomes support. Learn more and contribute at: stichtinghulphond.nl
